The more shimmery shades have a much shorter wear-time (about six hours before starting to fade), so I like them more as highlights or eyeshadow colours rather than bases. I find that the matte shades wear a whole lot longer now without creasing or budging (about 12 hours before starting to fade), so they work beautifully as eyeshadow bases (you can rub as much as you want, these suckers don't come off without make-up remover). Up until now, many people found MAC's matte Paint Pots to be too yellow (Soft Ochre) or too pink (Painterly) or too light (Bare Study) or too dark (Quite Natural) for use as eyeshadow bases, and now I can honestly say that there's something for everyone. These are extremely welcome additions to MAC's Paint Pot range because they fill the necessary gaps that were missing, especially for use as eyeshadow bases. Those who wanted more matte Paint Pots can now rejoice! Last year, MAC incorporated seven new and permanent metallic Paint Pots (see them here and here), which are fun and pretty, but they desperately needed to add more matte shades. It is less pink than Let's Skate!, less gold than Chilled on Ice, and more silver than Bare Study. It has medium pigmentation and semi-opaque colour pay-off. The texture is soft and creamy, and it goes on smoothly and evenly. Chrome Angel is a pale brightened silver with silver shimmer-sheen. This is a new and permanent shade. In terms of colour, it is darker than Aqua Eyeshadow (PRO), and more muted and less shimmery than Sky Blue Eyeshadow (PRO). There is currently nothing similar within MAC's permanent Pro Longwear Paint Pot range. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. Clearwater is a light cool-toned muted aqua blue in a matte finish. This is a new and permanent shade. It is cooler than Groundwork, darker and more brown than Camel Coat, and darker and cooler than Wedge Eyeshadow. Tailor Grey is a medium-dark warm-toned brown-taupe in a matte finish. This is a new and permanent shade. In terms of colour, it is similar to Haux Eyeshadow, and more purple than Quarry Eyeshadow. Stormy Pink is a medium-dark cool-toned muted mauve in a matte finish. This is a new and permanent shade. It is lighter and more cool-toned than Tailor Grey, more grey and more matte than Groundwork, and slightly darker and cooler than Omega Eyeshadow. Each Pro Longwear Paint Pot comes with 5 grams of product, and retails for $24.Ĭlockwise from bottom: Camel Coat, Stormy Pink, Tailor Grey, Clearwater, and Chrome AngelĬamel Coat, Stormy Pink, Tailor Grey, Clearwater, and Chrome AngelĬamel Coat is a light-medium cool-toned grey-beige in a matte finish. MAC describes Pro Longwear Paint Pot as "a highly pigmented eye colour that goes on creamy but dries to an intense, vibrant finish. The Pro Longwear Paint Pot has the same formula as the original Paint Pot, but now has a new long-wear claim - all existing shades of Paint Pot will be called Pro Longwear Paint Pot going forward. There are 12 shades of Pro Longwear Paint Pot being released with this collection, but I will only be reviewing five shades here. This collection sees the release of 28 products - 18 of which are new and permanent, two of which are re-promotes and now permanent, and eight of which are already permanent. Today, MAC will launch a new extension collection called Pro Longwear.
